What We Believe

Orchard Lake Community Church strives to connect lakes-area seekers to Christ's faith community.

Our heritage is as a Reformed Christian community church.  Denominationally, we are affiliated with Presbyterian Church (USA), hence the "P" in our nickname, OLCCP, and website, olccp.com.

Connecting lakes-area seekers to Christ's faith community for over 150 years

God

We believe in the sovereignty of God:  the supreme authority, creator, and sustainer of all things.

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the final authority for faith and life.

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ.

Membership

Why Join a Church?

Choosing to become a member is a personal decision and one we encourage you to consider when you feel it is time. Membership infers permanence, collegiality, and mutual support.  At OLCCP, members have the privilege of voting on congregational decisions and may hold office as an Elder, Deacon, or Trustee, serving to guide the present and future of the church.

In order to become a member, interested persons will meet on two occasions with the pastor to briefly discuss these topics:

  • Your journey of faith in Jesus Christ

  • The mission and ministry of Orchard Lake Community Church

  • The joy of serving Christ in our world

FAQ's

Q: I'm not sure I want to be a member. Should I still talk to the pastor about this?

A: Your conversations with the pastor offer a chance to further explore your faith, which is always beneficial no matter what decision you ultimately make about membership.

Q: What if I don't know the teachings of the Orchard Lake Community Church?

A: Orchard Lake Community Church is aligned with the Presbyterian denomination, a branch on the tree of Christendom founded soon after the Reformation in the 1500's AD. The conventional teachings of historic Christianity are what you will find at OLCCP. We affirm Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and read and teach from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible each week.

Q: What does it cost to become a member?

A: There are no dues or membership fees. The church's operations, ministries, and compassionate outreach are entirely funded by the generous financial donations of its members and friends. Everyone is encouraged to donate as they are able to support God's work in this church and around the world.
